Executive Retreats in France

Quiet Provençal bastide terrace set for a small executive gathering, cypress trees and hills beyond

Aura Provence designs and operates executive retreats in the South of France, from our base in Marseille. This page is for senior leadership offsites, board and executive committee retreats, and small high level groups who want a discreet, well-paced setting to think together — with a local team handling everything on the ground.

A quieter format, for senior groups

An executive retreat is not a scaled-down company offsite. The audience is more senior, the calendar is protected, and the surrounding programme is deliberately spare. Our formats are built for six to twenty-five participants — an executive committee, a board, a partner circle, a leadership team — and the whole retreat is coordinated by the same small ground team from first brief to final transfer. There are no large plenary rooms, no branded reception halls, no crowded restaurant tables. Just focused hours where they are needed, and unstructured time everywhere else.

    Discreet venues, chosen for privacy

We work with a small circle of private properties across Provence — restored bastides in the Alpilles, hilltop estates in the Luberon, seafront houses around Cassis, and a handful of historic domains near Aix-en-Provence — that can be taken on full-buyout terms with private chefs and dedicated staff. Full privacy is the baseline: no walk-in guests, no shared floors, no branded signage. The setting is deliberately understated, which is what senior groups tend to prefer.

Focused strategy time, protected from interruption

Working sessions are held in the venue itself, in rooms adapted to small-group work rather than auditorium formats. We handle the practical scaffolding — timing, room set-up, the quality of the coffee, the discipline of the schedule — so the sponsor and the facilitator can stay entirely on the substance. When the brief calls for an outside voice, we can suggest facilitators or speakers we trust, in French or in English. When it does not, we say so.

    A few signature Provence experiences

Around the working sessions, the programme leans on a small number of carefully chosen Provençal experiences rather than a long list. A private sail out of the Calanques at the end of a long day. A table at a family estate where the winemaker hosts dinner. An early walk in the Sainte-Baume forest before the group reconvenes. Each is meant to shift the register — not to fill the agenda. Operated on the ground, in Provence and the South of France

Every retreat is coordinated by our own team in Marseille, in French and English, from the first brief to the last transfer. We are honest about our perimeter: our operating zone is Provence and the South of France, not the whole country, and it is precisely because we stay in the region we know that the retreats hold together. To brief a project, the shortest route is our contact page, or a short call via Calendly. We come back with a first proposal within 48 hours.

For travel advisors and corporate planners

A significant share of our executive retreats is placed by travel agencies, executive offices and private assistants who need a discreet, reliable on-the-ground partner in Provence. We work with the trade on transparent terms and never contact an agency's clients directly. Details of how we partner with the industry live on our trade partners page, and the full corporate offer is on our corporate retreats page.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Where do these executive retreats take place?

In Provence and across the South of France. Our base is Marseille, and the working perimeter runs from the Calanques and Cassis on the coast to Aix-en-Provence, the Alpilles and the Luberon inland. We do not claim to operate all of France — we operate the region we know house by house, road by road.

What group size do you handle for an executive retreat?

Small senior groups, typically from 6 to 25 participants: executive committees, boards, partner circles and leadership teams. The format is designed around discretion and depth rather than scale, and every retreat is coordinated on the ground by our own team.

How is an executive retreat different from a standard corporate retreat?

The audience is more senior, the pace is slower and the setting is more private. Venues are chosen for confidentiality rather than capacity, working sessions are protected from interruption, and the surrounding experiences are fewer but more curated. It is closer to a private stay with structured strategy time than to a company offsite.

How quickly can we get a proposal?

We come back with a first proposal within 48 hours of receiving your brief. From there we refine venues, dates and the programme in dialogue with the sponsor until the retreat feels right.
